The Crop Share Gift Box: Preorder
Enjoy a share of our 2025 dye flower crop!
Like the farm to table model, these sustainably grown dyes go right from our small family farm to your dye pot. This beautiful assortment of homegrown regenerative color includes 8 of our favorite dyes of the season beautifully packaged in a Farm & Folk gift box.
The gift boxes include a combined total of 300 grams of dyestuffs (more than ½ pound) which will dye a good amount of fiber depending on the depth of shade you prefer and the type of fiber you will be dyeing. They do not come with an instructional booklet but I have linked to some free resources below. If you prefer to work with wool and silk fibers I recommend adding a bottle of Orvus Paste to your order.
Preorder Details:
The gift boxes will ship the first week of December. The cost of shipping is included in the price. If you order anything besides a gift box today, those items will ship right away. All gift boxes will be shipped in protective outer boxes to keep them pretty.
In the box:
Alum: potassium aluminum sulfate (125 grams)
Washing soda (50 grams)
Black Hollyhock (20 grams)
Black Scabiosa (20 grams)
Rubenza Cosmos (35 grams)
Dyer’s Coreopsis (35 grams)
Marigolds-whole flowers (35 grams)
Rudbeckia (20 grams)
Weld (35 grams)
A postcard
The gift box is 14’ x 10” x 4”
All of the flowers were planted, tended to, harvested, and cured by Sara here in southwestern Colorado on Ancient Future Farm. Our family has been tending this land and soil with regenerative growing methods since 2005. Our soil is nurtured through extensive cover cropping and no-till farming methods. Our crops are fertilized with compost that we make right here on site. We never use synthetic chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or fungicides. Our dye flowers are harvested every day by hand when they reach their optimal potential and then carefully cured in our curing room out of direct sunlight. All of our natural dyestuffs are packaged in heat sealed envelopes to keep them fresh. For best results we recommend using them within a year.
