THE PENNYCRESS QUILT
Constructed of cotton, linen and raw silk fabrics that were dyed by hand here on the farm with plants and minerals. Every color you see here came from nature! I was especially happy about the mustard color that was achieved with some oak leaves that my sons gathered for me on our land, hence the name Pennycress (a plant in the mustard family). This is a traditional quilt pattern called 9 patch. This quilt has wool batting which makes it very lofty and warm.
Fibers used:
Organic cotton, cotton/linen blend, raw silk (red). Wool batting. Cotton Japanese sashiko thread.
Size: 41 x 53 inches (crib size)
Machine pieced, hand quilted, and hand sewn binding.
