One Straw
Inspired by the book The One Straw Revolution by Masanobu Fukuoka and the concept of small acts being very powerful. The subtle pastel palette is calm and fluid with small yet powerful pops of color at each core. The grid design represents interconnectedness. The plant dyes used are indigo, myrobalan, cochineal, and homegrown madder root and weld. The fabrics are organic cotton and hemp.
Machine pieced with organic cotton thread, hand quilted with Japanese sashiko thread. The batting is organic cotton. The back features a patchwork buffalo check that I dyed with indigo.
Measures: 88” x 103” (will fit a queen and most king beds but be sure to measure your mattress)
