Kraft Paper Quilt

$3,000.00

This one was a just-for-fun-quilt that I squeezed in time to work on during the busy farm season. I chose bright colors much different than I normally reach for and grounded them with a neutral color that I dyed with black walnut hulls. This grounding color kept making me think of kraft paper which inspired me to cut the flowers and border to look like paper cut art. It was a really fun quilt to work on!

This quilt is naturally dyed with indigo, madder root, homegrown weld, and locally foraged black walnut husks. The back is a patchwork buffalo check that I dyed with madder root. The fabrics are organic cotton, and hemp. The batting is organic cotton. This quilt was pieced by machine with organic cotton thread, and hand quilted with Japanese sashiko thread.

Measures: 56” x 74” (throw size or wall art)
