Eclipse Season Natural Dye Kit
A natural dye kit to dye your own Eclipse Season fat quarters.
I created this palette on the back porch of my studio in the late summer golden light during eclipse season. Such a mood! I previously released this as a small collection of naturally dyed fat quarters that sold out in just a few minutes. Instead of dyeing more, I decided to put together this kit for those who take pleasure in the process of natural dyeing. It comes with all the supplies you need to dye the 8 Eclipse Season colors on 8 fat quarters. *The fat quarters are not included in this kit so they will have to be purchased separately. Specific recommendations for purchasing fabric or using what you already have on hand, and instructions for cutting your own fat quarters from yardage is all provided in the instructional booklet.
This kit is intended for folks with previous natural dye experience. Although the instructional booklet provides simple and thorough step-by-step process instructions, I do not explain the basic natural dye terminology which beginners will not be familiar with. Please note that some of the boxes say “Beginner Natural Dye Kit” on them. These boxes are leftover from a dye kit I released in the past.
INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
Washing soda, alum, myrobalan, gallnut, sulfur cosmos orange, weld, madder pink dye, ripe grape dye, autumn leaf dye, iron, and an instructional booklet.
YOU WILL NEED:
Eight fat quarters (6 white, and 2 unbleached linen or hemp), a large 3-5 gallon size dye pot preferably nonreactive, a large stirring spoon, mild detergent such as Ecos, a pair of kitchen gloves, a kitchen scale capable of weighing in the unit of grams, a cloth or disposable face mask.
