Alum Mordant
(Potassium aluminum sulfate)
This is my go-to mordant for all fiber types. For mordanting cellulose fibers you will also need soda ash. For cellulose fibers I recommend treating the fibers in a tannin bath before mordanting them. See the resources linked below.
